About Gemma

Hi, I’m Gemma Fletcher-Jones—a qualified Somatic Sexologist and Embodiment Practitioner dedicated to helping women overcome vaginismus through an integrative, pleasure-centred, and trauma-informed approach.

Vaginismus isn’t just a physical condition—it can touch every part of your life, from your sense of self to your intimacy and relationships. Influenced by physical, emotional, and relational factors, along with cultural conditioning and layers of internalised shame, it can feel overwhelming, isolating, and frustrating. But you don’t have to navigate it alone.

This journey is deeply personal to me—not just as a practitioner, but because I’ve lived it. I don’t see vaginismus as a problem to “fix”, but as an invitation to reclaim agency, rebuild trust and safety in your body, and embrace the full depth of your erotic expression.

Based in Naarm/Melbourne, Australia, I work with clients worldwide via Zoom. My practice is LGBTIQ+ inclusive, and I’m passionate about supporting women from diverse backgrounds on their journey toward sexual empowerment.

I’d be honoured to support you on your journey to liberation.

Highly personalised, professional support — designed for you.

This is for you if…

  • You can't insert anything into your vagina — tampons, fingers, a penis — no matter how much you try.

  • You experience pain, shame and anxiety during sex, even when you are aroused and turned on.

  • You feel out of control, as if your body is punishing you or working against you.

  • You are tired of using dilators and want to explore alternative options.

  • You hide from dating, intimacy and conversations around sex.

  • You worry that you’ll never be able to have a family.

You are ready to…

  • Move from avoidance and shame to a deep sense of choice, safety, and self-trust in every intimate experience.

  • Build authentic relationships with yourself and others—without fear or embarrassment holding you back.

  • Feel at home in your body and empowered in your sexuality, no longer defined by pain or limitation.

  • Unravel and rewire the deep-seated patterns that keep you stuck, so you can finally move forward.

  • Open to pleasure, connection, and the full expression of your desires—on your terms.

  • Shift from involuntary tension and resistance to ease, relaxation, and possibility.

Frequently asked questions

  • Vaginismus is a condition where the muscles around the vagina involuntarily contract, making penetration difficult, painful, or sometimes impossible. This can affect activities like sexual intercourse, tampon use, or medical examinations. Some people describe the feeling as a "hitting a wall" sensation when attempting penetration. It can also be accompanied by anxiety and fear in the act of and anticipation of pain.

If you’re experiencing these symptoms, it’s important to consult a medical professional, such as a GP or gynaecologist, to rule out other potential causes like infections, hormonal imbalances, or structural issues. I only work with clients who have received a medical diagnosis of vaginismus and have been advised by a healthcare provider that there are no underlying medical conditions requiring treatment.

If you have already been diagnosed and are looking for an embodied, holistic approach to healing, my work can support you.

  • Somatic Sexology is a body-based, holistic approach to sex therapy/ caching, intimacy, and erotic embodiment. Rather than focusing solely on the mind, it engages the body’s innate wisdom, working with the nervous system, emotions, and felt experience to support deeper transformation. Through incorporating breath, movement, touch, sound, and awareness — this approach is an invitation to explore your desires, boundaries, and authentic erotic expression in a way that feels safe, embodied, and empowering.

    In Somatic Sexology we can:

    • Reconnect with your body’s natural capacity for pleasure.

    • Release shame and conditioning around sexuality.

    • Heal trauma or emotional blocks stored within.

    • Rewrite your sexual story with power.

  • Embodied Counselling is an approach to healing and self-discovery that moves beyond traditional talk therapy and integrates the wisdom of the body and emotions. It’s about liberating yourself from cultural conditioning, reclaiming your authentic essence, and integrating body and mind for profound transformation.

    Through Embodied Counselling we can:

    • Cultivate greater presence, pleasure, and authenticity.

    • Reclaim trust, connection, and safety within your body.

    • Release patterns and conditioning that no longer serve you.

    • Heal trauma and emotional wounds stored in the nervous system.

  • The number of sessions depends on factors like your goals, lifestyle, and financial situation. Choice is a key part of my work, so you can adjust the frequency, take a break, or end the sessions at any time. That said, I prefer to work with clients over a period of time to build a trusting relationship and create lasting change. For this reason, I generally recommend a six-session package—it’s an affordable option that also fosters deeper commitment to the process.

  • Each session is an intimate, non-judgemental, collaborative space designed to support you in reconnecting with your body, unraveling shame, and reclaiming your erotic authenticity. My approach is deeply personalised, meeting you where you are with warmth, curiosity, and a trauma-informed lens.

    Sessions may include:

Conversation and deep inquiry – exploring your experiences, desires, fears, and challenges through open, compassionate dialogue. Talking is an essential part of the process, helping to bring clarity, insight, and integration.

Somatic exploration – guiding you to tune into bodily sensations, breath, and movement to deepen self-awareness and shift patterns of tension or disconnection.

Erotic embodiment practices – inviting you into a more integrated, pleasurable relationship with your sexuality through mindful touch, visualisation, or guided self-inquiry.

Nervous system regulation – helping you recognise and navigate emotional or physical responses that may arise, supporting greater ease and trust in your body.

Unpacking cultural conditioning – gently challenging beliefs, shame, or fear-based narratives around sexuality and intimacy, so you can step into a more empowered, liberated sense of self.

Practical guidance – offering tools, exercises, and insights tailored to your needs, whether you're exploring pleasure, working through blocks, or deepening connection with a partner.

These sessions are not about prescribing a rigid formula—they are about creating a space where you feel safe, seen, and supported in your unique process of transformation.

All sessions are fully clothed and held on Zoom.

"Working with Gemma has totally rocked my world. She expertly led me to the parts of myself that wanted to be seen - and the recognition and insights that came through this acknowledgment created nothing short of a radical transformation. Gemma tunes in beautifully and it really felt like we were on this journey as a team."

Mia, Croatia

"Gemma is a great space-holder. I have been on many somatic therapies by now and I really appreciate when the practitioner allows me and my body to settle and to flow in my own rhythm. I found that this was tricky for many people I worked with, the part where they need to trust in my process, meanwhile Gemma perfectly followed my pace but also offered soft and appropriate invitations into deepening the process. I felt loved, seen, held and accepted in all of my kinks with Gemma. Deep gratitude to Gemma and recommendation to y'all to gift this to yourself."

Freya, United States

“Working with Gemma was very gratifying. She is incredibly open, honest, and a very calming presence. She encouraged me to consider new practices and engage with my feelings and how they manifest in my body. Our sessions were co-lead with openness to what I wanted to explore, with her guidance, suggestions, and knowledge."

Zoe, South Africa

"Gemma is a rare treasure. Talking to her felt less like talking to a therapist and more like talking to a close friend. I was able to feel really safe sharing things that were quite intimate and emotional for me. I never felt judged. In fact, whatever I threw at her, she seemed to understand me deeply! She was able to turn the things I thought were problems, into new and exciting opportunities. She helped me to stop fighting and start embracing everything that I am. It was really phenomenal. If you are considering working with Gemma, do yourself a favor and take the leap!"
